Peak Marketing & Communication Services is a PR and marketing consultancy based in Merstham, Surrey. Our clients are located throughout the UK and span the financial services, legal, technology and counter fraud/forensic sectors. We provide the full range of marketing & PR services working both strategically and tactically to meet our clients’ objectives. We facilitate senior decision making with market intelligence and in direct response to client demand have developed a complementary bespoke training service with workshop modules covering PR, Multi-Channel Communications, Social Media and Consultative Sales Training. We have an outstanding reputation in our markets, a superb network of contacts and our business is built on recommendations and referrals. We are a small team with big ambitions.
Position:
PR & Marketing Internship
Duration:
12 months [fixed term contract with employment potential].
Working hours:
40 hours.
Salary:
£12,000 per annum.
Duties:
• Assisting in creating website copy.
• Assisting in creating marketing copy.
• Assisting in creation of awards entries.
• Assisting in the creation of media relations copy: articles, blogs & feature contributions.
• Assisting in the creation, approval process, distribution and follow up of news releases.
• Research into sector specific topical issues and drafting of potential client ‘talking points’.
• Research into relevant trade media features.
• Effective proofing of PR & marketing copy.
• Assisting in event management/co-ordination.
• Assisting in the production of client reports and new business proposals.
• Assisting in increasing the profile of Peak through social media.
• New business research to include monitoring of social media.
• Answering phones.
• Attending client meetings.
Essential Requirements:
• Basic understanding of PR & marketing principles.
• Strong written & inter-personal skills.
• Good team working skills and an ability to work independently and self-motivate.
• Excellent telephone manner.
• Strong customer service skills and ethos.
• Creative ability.
• Good time management, high work rate and ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent IT skills to include Word / Excel / Powerpoint.
• Good attention to detail.
Essential Requirements Continued:
• Ability to apply initiative to tasks.
• Positive mental attitude & good sense of humour.
Desirable Requirements:
• Higher level qualification in PR/marketing.
• Practical office experience .
